NEW DELHI — In a landmark report presented in the Lok Sabha today, the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms unveiled far-reaching recommendations addressing the intersection of artificial intelligence, campaign finance, and voter sovereignty.

Headed by senior legislators across the political spectrum, the 310-page white paper mandates real-time algorithmic ad repositories for all registered political parties, with expenditure disclosures mandated every 48 hours during active election cycles.

"Voters have an unconditional democratic right to know who finances the information flowing into their digital feeds," stated the committee chairperson during the press conference following the tabling. "Our proposals safeguard freedom of speech while neutralizing dark money and synthetic deepfake operations."

The recommendations also propose the establishment of specialized Fast-Track Election Dispute Benches within High Courts to resolve electoral petitions within 90 days, eliminating the prolonged judicial delays that have historically hindered legislative clarity.

State assemblies across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Karnataka are expected to examine localized implementation frameworks ahead of forthcoming civic elections.
